C950 - Cookham Tennis Cottage

Description:

A striking period home set within a Conservation Area on the historic Hardings Green in Cookham Dean. Surrounded by listed buildings and the timeless landscapes of the Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, it offers a quintessentially English backdrop rich with character and heritage. The property combines 16th-century origins with later additions, providing a versatile canvas for film and photography. With its historic setting, landscaped grounds, and proximity to meadows, woodland, and views of the Thames, it evokes the same pastoral charm that once inspired Kenneth Grahame’s The Wind in the Willows.

The house itself spans nearly 3,000 sq ft, offering five bedrooms, three bathrooms, multiple reception spaces, and a spacious kitchen opening onto a large terrace — perfect for scenes needing natural light and seamless indoor-outdoor flow. The manicured gardens, tennis court, and detached guest suite/office provide further opportunities for filming, while sweeping lawns, mature trees, and far-reaching views towards Cliveden House and Ascot Racecourse create a cinematic country house setting.
