L766 - Billingshurst Farm House

Description:

Built in 1870, a former gamekeeper’s cottage on the historic Slinfold Estate in West Sussex, surrounded by 60 acres of private woodland, meadows, and a walled rose garden. Once lying dormant for half a century, the property has been sympathetically restored and extended, seamlessly blending its original charm with modern luxury. Inside, airy neutral tones are lifted by vibrant fabrics, stained glass, collected artworks, and curiosities that bring depth and character. With elegant interiors, an open fire, a snug, and an Aga-warmed kitchen, it offers a refined yet homely atmosphere, making it as versatile for intimate storytelling as it is for grand cinematic visuals.

Outdoors, the setting is nothing short of idyllic – a natural backdrop of wildflower meadows, woodland paths, and a serene pond alive with birdlife. From the walled rose garden to the seasonal plunge pool, the grounds provide a wealth of striking locations, ideal for capturing both pastoral beauty and a sense of secluded escape. Whether filming period drama, lifestyle shoots, or modern narratives that need a timeless rural setting, the unique blend of heritage, luxury, and nature makes it an inspiring and highly adaptable location.
