L770 - Colchester Fossil Barn

Description:

This striking converted dairy barn on Mersea Island is a one-of-a-kind filming location, blending raw industrial character with extraordinary details. The space showcases concrete floors, exposed steel beams, and breezeblock walls, softened by a mezzanine overlooking the expansive open-plan living and dining area. Furnished with a world-class fossil and crystal collection alongside bespoke materials sourced globally — from statement light fittings to distinctive flooring — the property offers a backdrop that is both unique and visually compelling.

Beyond the main barn, the site is highly practical for production use. There is ample parking, an outbuilding with a fully functioning bathroom and kitchenette, and permanent lifting gear on-site, making it ideal for shoots requiring heavy equipment or striking industrial aesthetics. Combining bold architecture with natural treasures, this versatile property is equally suited to creative editorials, commercials, or cinematic storytelling.
