Q164 - Kings Cross Hospital Studio

Description:

Situated in a converted historic hospital in King's Cross, this unique one-bedroom penthouse flat doubles as an active artist’s studio. The interior design leans into a clean, industrial aesthetic with stark white walls, light grey flooring, and stainless steel accents, alongside original hospital details like preservation-grade surgery sinks and vintage electrical fixtures. Across its interconnecting spaces, the location offers a striking visual contrast: bright, minimalist rooms transition directly into raw, gritty spaces left with their original distressed wall textures. Among these features are former surgery rooms flooded with natural light and anchored by authentic overhead surgery lighting rigs, paired with a live working studio complete with creative elements and a dramatic hanging chandelier.

For outdoor and lifestyle setups, the property extends onto a 20-metre balcony terrace—formerly the hospital's fire escape—delivering wide, elevated panoramic views over the City of London and Canary Wharf skylines. Inside, the space is fully outfitted for production logistics and editorial shoots, complete with styling chairs, a large dining table, and a premium king-size bed. Combining preserved institutional heritage with functional creative workspaces and outdoor depth, this King's Cross apartment provides a versatile, character-rich backdrop for film, stills, and commercial projects.
